Saturday night was the only night Kenny ever took off from doing work. Sunday through Monday he normally stayed home and graded the homework he assigned the past week, or looked through a test that might have been given. Most of the time it was the first since he constantly gave a lot of homework but he wasn’t that mean of a teacher, he let the students have the weekend off from his class because he remembered what it was like to be in high school, and he knew that school wasn’t the only thing the students did with their lives. Despite his very strict manner in the classroom he was very generous, and not giving homework on the weekends was part of his generosity. Because of this generosity he was able to have some fun on Saturday nights, and if he didn’t go down to the beach, he went to a club located near the beach. He didn’t have to drive to either of these places because his apartment was right across the street from the beach and not driving allowed him to drink a little bit while at the club.
Walking into his room after taking a shower he got dressed, put on his socks, shoes and then got his favorite pair of glasses and put them on. If you ever saw him during the week you’d know he never wore glasses but Saturday nights he did because he liked to think they looked cool and had style. Grabbing the keys to his apartment and wallet he was ready to go, and headed out the door and began to walk down the street around ten pm. Another reason for going down to this club besides the location was the atmosphere. It wasn’t overly crowded with a bunch of teenagers with fake I.d.’s who somehow managed to outsmart the security guard watching the door; sure there were some but the whole club wasn’t full of them. After getting into the club it was just like he thought, nice and chill inside with good music playing that you could actually get into. Lot of people came tonight which should make finding someone to dance with much easier.
Walking up to the bar he took a seat on one of the stools available and tried to flag down the bartender, which was easier said then done when it was full like right now, but after about five minutes of trying he finally managed to get the bartenders attention. “Two shots of whiskey.” he told the bartender who pulled out two shot glasses and poured his drinks. Pulling out the money from his pocket he paid for the drinks and quickly downed one of them before slamming the other down right after. Kenny didn’t drink much most of the time, and normally he kept it at two drinks and stopped because he liked being sober but given the right situation he’d drink more then his two shots. The right situation simply meant that he had to be hanging out with the right person, or just having a real good time in general.

THERES A DRUMMING NOISE INSIDE MY HEAD
THAT STARTS WHEN YOU'RE AROUND
It was saturday, the first day of the weekend that lent itself entirely to pleasurable activities. Or, at the very least, to doing nothing but basking in the mellow Californian sunshine. Though, there were always the exceptions to this rule. Those who had to work for a living, adults usually, with jobs to go to, bills to pay. Indigo, unfortunately, fit into this category, though at eighteen, she wasn't exactly in the right age bracket. Still, it was something she had come to expect. Spending the day at work on a pleasant saturday was something she didn't think twice about now. Having such a useless mother, with an ability to hold down a job and a penchant for spending money they didn't have meant that Indie more or less was left supporting the two of them. If her mother could find a decent job of her own and stop spending her wages on unnecessary things, they would probably be comfortable enough for Indigo not to have to work, but as it was, that was not the case. It had been a busy day, the restaurant was packed though the food orders were mostly light, snacks and small meals from the lunch menu. Of course, that wasn't Indigo's department, she was just a waitress, and a hostess if they needed it, but if the kitchen staff were serene, there was a much larger chance of everyone else being calmer. After all, the business was central to them making the food that was ordered, it made sense that it only ran smoothly if the kitchen did.
There had been a window in her day after work, giving her a few hours to relax her sore muscles and make somewhat of an effort to look a little nicer than she did during the day. Indie wasn't really one for makeup, of course, should she be frequenting a club or a party, she used a little, but during the day, her face was bare. Still, her features were striking enough to carry it off well. After managing to fall asleep in the bath and waking up later than she meant to, Indigo had rushed, at first to get ready. Running around, it had occurred to her that the humidity of the vapours in the bathroom had given her hair its natural curl, though with a little frizz - although that was nothing she couldn't sort out. Aside from that, all she had to do was rummage in her wardrobe and make use of the limited products in her makeup bag. She had calmed down after this, padding leisurely to the bathroom in a soft towel to fix her hair, it hadn't taken long. One third of her prepping process done, she had pulled a little black dress from her closet, deeming it worthy for tonight's activities and slipped it on. With a little mascara and a hint of bronze under her cheeks, her face seemed to transform. Her eyes were striking enough, it wasn't a task to make them look as they did now. Of course, Indie never paid much attention to her reflection, though, if she thought about it, that was probably an attractive quality. Narcissism didn't appeal to her, at least.
The cosy flat she shared with her incompetent mother wasn't too far from the beach, but far enough for her to be within her rights not to want to walk after a day at work. In a taxi, she pulled her fare from her bag, paying as she got out. The light chill on the air was just cold enough for the cropped leather jacket over her dress, though it didn't really consist of much, just a barrier to keep the cold away. Though this particular club never denied her entrance, she always got a little nervous on approaching. Her ID wasn't exactly fake, but borrowed from and older friend who, in the picture, vaguely resembled her. She smiled blithely as the doorman stepped aside to let her in, she didn't exactly look young anyway. It was relaxed yet atmospheric inside, with good music and a decent amount of people in. She stepped lithely between couples dancing and groups chattering, stopping by the bar. The barman didn't take long to get to her. They seemed to favour pretty girls, unfair, but advantageous for her. "Vodka and cranberry, please." she said, leaning a elbow gently on the counter. Aware of someone sitting to her left, she glanced casually, turning as the face registered in her mind. Kenneth Reed, her math teacher, though she didn't always behave as if he was. "Hi." she smiled, arching a brow. Fancy seeing you here. words seven seven six notes ;D lyrics drumming song - florence and the machine tag kenneth[/blockquote]

The night had started very well for Kenny, his two shots went down smoothly and a lovely young lady had appeared to his left. Offering to buy her a drink they began to chat and the chat had gone smoothly until she got a phone call from one of her friends which made her leave for the night, but not before getting her number. Kenny will be the first to admit he can be charming at times but not charming enough to get any girl he wanted at any moment. He had his moments but he was never one to sustain those moment as long as he wanted, some days he had it and others he didn’t, and judging by the number he just got, tonight he had it. Noticing the bartender was right in front of him again he took the chance to order a water, he was going to stick to his two drink rule unless the night just got too good not to drink some more.
Paying for the bottle of water he slowly began to drink and was not really paying attention to anyone around him for a few minutes while he downed the water. Thinking the whiskey should be a bit calm in his stomach after downing a bottle of water he leaned back on the stool and noticed a very lovely young lady sit next to him and at first glance he didn’t recognize her but when she ordered her drink he made a double take out of the corner of his eyes and now noticed it was Indigo. If it hadn’t been for her ordering a drink he would have attempted to hit on her but now he needed to think about what he was going to do. Naturally she would have recognized him by now, and what was he going to say to her? Anything he said regarding how she looked would make it seem like he was hitting on her, and even though she might be ok with that, which he was basing on her subtle hints, he wouldn’t be very comfortable about it.
Naturally he was going to do the only thing that came to mind, and that was walk away and pretend he never saw her. Exactly as he was going to stand up she said hi and now he just couldn’t leave without saying anything in return. Well he could, but he wasn’t a big enough jerk to do that. Turning to his right he smiled at her and began to wonder whether she used a fake I.D. to get in but Indigo did look 18 in his opinion, especially when she looked the way she did tonight, and no doubt the security guard was to busy checking her out to really pay attention, which he wouldn’t hold against the security guard because right now he was fighting not to let his eyes wander even though they were under his glasses. He knew full well he shouldn’t even be thinking of Indigo in that way but he has his limits, and he could only take so much before giving in, and with Indigo dropping hints at him for some time now he couldn’t just shake the hints out of his head; the monster inside of him was really begging him to respond to her hints but he kept resisting.
“Hello Indigo, what a surprise to see you here.” he told her truthfully because he rarely ran into his students off campus. “You just get here? I barely noticed it was you until you ordered that drink.” He would not say anything else he noticed as she ordered her drink for the sake of keeping his thoughts to himself but he really did want to compliment her on how good she looked right now; then again the ‘barely noticed it was you’ line might have accidentally given away what was running through his head before he realized it was her. Another thing he was noticing right now were her eyes, in class he never really focused on them because he had a whole classroom full of students but now that it was only her he had time to look at them, and they were very attractive.

THERES A DRUMMING NOISE INSIDE MY HEAD
THAT STARTS WHEN YOU'RE AROUND
The barman, somewhat more eager than necessary, returned momentarily with her drink and an unabashedly large grin on his face. He had thrown a maraschino cherry into her drink, an accent which certainly didn't belong in the particular mixture she had ordered, but it was of no consequence. He didn't seem all that older than her, really, and she liked the taste of them, regardless if they should be in her drink or not. Snaking her slender fingers around the width of the glass, she lifted it to her lips, the cool surface condensing at her warm touch. It was almost impossible to be cold in such a place as this. There were an almost improbable number of bodies in the medium sized club by now, and a good deal of them seemed to be making a mass attempt to generate more body heat than necessary on the dance floor. Even someone perpetually cold, as Indigo was, was warmed nearly instantaneously on entry. Hand still clasped around it's width, she lowered the glass from her mouth, keeping her hand laced around it, tracing the rim with her other. It wasn't exactly her fashion to go out and get unfathomably drunk - it wasn't an attractive luck, but she did like to at least have a little buzz before she could really get into the swing of things. After-all, what harm could a little liquid courage do? She did the barman a favour, feigning to have to hunt for her money a little so he could linger around her longer. It wasn't the most flattering of comparisons, but he rather reminded her of an over-zealous golden retriever.
As Kenneth stood, her words hit his ears, stopping him for a moment. Over the din of mixed words and loud music, she doubted very highly that her voice would be clear enough for him to recognize, but it didn't matter. As long as he had heard well enough to alert him that the greeting was directed to him, all he had to do was turn to see her. He responded, a strictly pleasant affair but there was a hesitance before he spoke. A devilish smile tugged at the corner of her mouth, tipping it only slightly as she moved languidly in her seat to face him somewhat more easily. Of course, she moved only fractionally, she didn't play adoring fan-girl to anyone. Even if that anyone happened to be attractive with the added bonus of being highly off limits. "A few minutes ago." she breezed, a subtle shrug at her shoulders as she took another sip of the crimson liquid in her glass. Her head tipped, only slightly, to one side, her eyes narrowing marginally as she surveyed the man in front of her. It was unnecessary, she thought, for him to look so appealing. He seemed irritatingly concerned over the moral issues of her being a student. This she knew, her hints had been subtle, but ongoing. "Likewise" she replied, innocently arching a brow. Her eyes flickered, a tiny movement as she took in her appearance, a playful smirk at her lips. "It suits you though." his appearance was even more maddening in these lights.
Indigo wasn't exactly sure what it was that appealed to her enough about Kenneth Reed that he remained such a perplexing prospect. The attraction was mostly physical, almost purely so. The only situation Indigo had been in which concerned both herself and her math teacher was, of course, classes. His obvious intellect was appealing, of course, but she had never been able to work out whether he was simply naturally attractive to her, or if the forbidden element had succeeded in intriguing her. Either way, the fact was still true. In the dim lights of the club, in attire much more appropriate away from school, he looked even better. She sipped at the rich liquid absent-mindedly. "So, what am I supposed to call you off campus?" she said, a hint of intrigue in her eyes. She was thoroughly aware that if either of them acted upon her 'hints', that it would be wrong on at least a few levels, their age, their relationship, but that only made her more determined to entice him. She probably should have been making more of an effort to associate herself with boys in her grade, but older men were so much more cultured, it seemed hardly worth it. Besides, she would be gone in a year, a university student. It would seem more appropriate, then, for her to widen the age bracket that she was interested in.

Watching Indigo closely Kenny got the feeling she went to clubs a lot. Call it a hunch but the way she traced her finger around her glass, and how she handled that drink made it seem that way. In his head he was thinking the security guards need to start doing a better job at the door when a high school student could get into clubs so frequently they could drink without a problem. Of course he was assuming she wasn’t having a hard time downing that drink but her facial expression and body language made it seem as if she had that drink numerous times. Indigo of course had to be complemented, she probably knew full well security guards were told to let in as many good looking ladies as possible and despite his best efforts to push the thoughts from his head Indigo would certainly fall into the category of ‘good looking.’
As she began to talk he eyed her curiously, not because of what she was saying but because of the innocent look she had on her face. Indigo knew full well what she was doing and every time she did this the monster in his stomach roared for him to do something back, to make a move and flirt with her a bit. Even though he knew he should tell her something about not talking to her professor that way he wasn’t going too. Inwardly he was smirking, hearing that he was looking good made the monster roar louder and he could feel the line he should not cross growing closer and closer. “Thanks…I suppose…” he tried to talk casually as if he didn’t care to much for her compliment regarding his appearance but probably didn’t do too good a job at that. And then he just couldn’t stop himself anymore, and slowly he let his eyes wander up and down her body behind his glasses. Indigo was looking very good tonight, she had a very subtle beauty to her which was very attractive to him.
To stop himself from checking her out again he took his glasses off and rested them on his head, the last thing he wanted was to get more and more tempted and having his glasses off meant he’d have no choice but to keep his eyes at her eyes. When she mentioned what she should call him he couldn’t help but laugh. It was true, on school he was either ‘Mr. Reed’ or ‘Professor Reed.’ Off campus was a different story and since he rarely ran into students he wasn’t quite sure. “Well I do go by Kenny mostly, so you can call me Kenny off campus.” he responded to her with a nod of his head. “And I shall still call you Indigo.” he added right after with a slight chuckle. That was his bad sense of humor but he found it funny. “I couldn’t help but notice that you drank that with relative ease. Easy for you to get past the security guards at clubs? If I had to guess I’d say it is easy for you…” his reason for it being easy for her almost slipped out just then but he managed to catch himself before saying anything else.
