tell you nothing but lies , BUT YOU WANT TO BELIEVE . --- it was tradition, or it should be tradition, for the students at norrington to throw a huge party before the term started. of course the boys over at hakebourne always ended up at the party as well since the schools were close together, and no one wanted to have a same sex party. what was the point of a party that only girls were at when you lived with only girls for the whole school year? there was no point, and savannah only ever went to these parties because it was as hard as hell to be only around girls for most of her time. she needed the company of boys, she loved being around them. it was fun to be able to flirt all night, be complimented, and to have someone go get her drinks whenever she wanted. savannah found she was one of those girls who had that effect on guys, and you better believe she used it to her advantage whenever she could. as she got ready for the party, she couldn’t help but feel really excited. this year was going to be interesting, with the boys living at norrington now. she knew some of them, most girls did, but too say that savannah had friends at hakebourne would kind of be pushing it, after all, she only ever saw them at parties.
--- she headed out to the party, without her roommate who had gone earlier, not that sav minded much, she was one of those girls who didn’t need to be surrounded by people all the time, she loved people and attention, but she was perfectly happy to be alone every once and a while, and tonight, walking to the party at the abandon warehouse where it always was at, well it was nice having some quiet time. her bright white flip flops made loud noises with every step she took, as she walked down the street. her blonde hair whipped in her face as a gentle breeze blew by. she pushed her hair from her face as she got closer to the warehouse, loving the warm weather, and wishing there was a party in the park or something instead, somewhere where they could enjoy the warm weather. when she got to the abandoned warehouse, she pushed open the doors only to feel a rush of heat and a strong whiff of alcohol. smiling slightly as she looked around at her crazy friends, she walked in and headed straight to the drinks table, to make herself a nice strong drink to help her get the party started.
--- the music was loud and fast, and people were all over each other on the dance floor as savannah pushed her way through the drunk gross couples grinding each other in awkward ways. she felt herself get dragged into a few hugs and heard shrieks of her name and people running towards her, when she didn't or couldn't even remember their names. smiling politely and engaging in minimal small talk, all she wanted to do was to escape the crowd and get a drink. her summer was kind of lame, and she missed the parties here, but lets be honest, savannah didn't find them any fun when she was sober. she finally escaped everyone and headed over to the table, grabbing a plastic red cup and looking at all the liquor trying to decide what to mix. she figured she might as well go with vodka, and grabbed a bottle of grey goose and poured herself a generous amount, before reaching for a bottle of cranberry juice, and filled the cup with the juice. vodka cranberry was her drink of choice, and she let out a little satisfied sigh as she took a sip.
--- it didn't take long before savannah had ended up draining her drink and was off to making another one. she had a tendency to just throw drinks back, and didn't know if that was something to be proud of or something to be worried about. it wasn't like she turned to alcohol for her problems, okay sometimes she did, but really, savannah only got drunk when she was at a party. pouring more vodka than juice in her second drink, she screwed the cap on the juice first and then the vodka before picking her cup up and turning around, leaning her lower back against the table as she looked around, trying to figure out what she should do. she brought her cup to her lips and took a long, slow drink, before swallowing and putting the cup down, before running her fingers through her golden blonde hair.
--- she saw some people come up to the table, and crossed her arm across her chest, before picking her drink up. they were clearly intoxicated, and sav just had no patience at the moment to deal with them. she turned her head and looked around, and spotted some guy she didn't recognize at all. she got up from her leaning position and decided to go talk to him, there wasn't much else she could do. "hey"
she said as she walked up to him, a small smile on her face. "i'm savannah" she grinned a little, her voice oozing it's normal confidence before she hide her smile behind a sip from her drink. status: complete tagged: elijah words: 886 outfit: right hurr lyrics: cowboy cassanova, carrie underwood banner credit: me layout credit: me notes: kinda bad, sorry. SWEET VERMOUTH NOW YOU'RE TELLING ME THE TRUTH, A LITTLE STUBBORNNESS WILL WORK OUT FINE as eli pulled on his blazer he heard a shout down the hall, one of his friends telling him very loudly to "hurry his ass up." all he got in response from eli was a grin as the boy slid the coat jacket over his shoulders. he glanced at himself briefly in the mirror, wondering for a moment if his parents would approve. then he shook his head, attempting to dislodge that thought. part of the reason he loved going to school here, whether it be hakebourne or norrington, was that it was apart from his parents. they didn't live too far away in beverly hills, but it was enough distance to escape mostly from their grasp. it wasn't that they didn't get along or that they were terrible parents. it was just that were a bit controlling. of what he wore, who he hung out with, what grades he got, et cetera. and it wasn't because they wanted to have a say in his every move. no, eli suspected that they were trying to be good parents, raising their boy to be what society expected. but eli had tired of always doing what society expected and over the past year at hakebourne he had been able to break free of that a bit. he was still a good boy at heart though, a gentleman through and through. no school was likely to change that.
the reflection that stared back at eli in the mirror was one of a tall, muscular boy with sharp brown eyes and mussed brown hair. he had strong facial features that many girls considered very attractive, but to eli, it was just how he looked. he was dressed in that preppy casual manner, with cargo shorts, a print tee shirt and a black blazer over top. the tee shirt was actually one of his favorites, a blue shirt boasting the image of the band the kinks, with their name emblazoned below them. now what few people knew was that this shirt was a legitimate one, one purchased back in the seventies. eli wore it sometimes for good luck, and he was hoping it would work tonight. not so much good luck in that he would get lucky with a girl, but just good luck so that he'd be able to enjoy himself. he was pretty certain he would, it was, after all, the big bash before the year began. eli had gone last year and found it to be a ton of fun, and back then, a great way to meet a bunch of people. this year he knew plenty more people, both guys and girls, and his presence had been demanded more than once. and as his parents had taught him, it was also good to live up to your expectations.
as he approached the abandoned warehouse with his friends, eli thought that on any other occasion, the building would just look plain creepy, especially late at night, with it as dark as it was now. but instead the building gave off a youthful energy that was inviting. his buddies joked around as they pulled open the doors and went on in. instantly eli was hit with the blaring music, the bright lights, and the dozens upon dozens of bodies. it looked like even more people than last year, but that would probably just make it more fun, right? eli followed his friends over to another group of people, most of whom eli knew. they all said there hellos and then began discussing the party - how many people were there, who the hot girls were and who looked new. eli listened with only half interest as they spoke. for them, girls were always a game, a contest. for eli, not so much. he enjoyed beautiful girls, just like any straight guy would. he just didn't see the point in getting with as many as you could. for him it kind of took the fun out of it because then you were being with them just to be with them, not because you actually wanted to. still, eli didn't bother to share that with any of the other boys because all he'd be likely to receive is several blank stares and some laughs.
excusing himself from the group, eli made his way over to the tables where the alcohol was located. he usually had a couple of beers but not too much more than that. he drank just to loosen up a bit and because he didn't see the harm in it, not because he felt the need to get shit faced every night. plus, whenever he was drunk, he was bound to do idiotic things and his parents probably wouldn't be too kind about that. for the second time that night eli made a conscious effort to push his parents out of his mind. instead he focused on grabbing one of those universal red cups and filling it up with some beer. he was simple when it came to his alcohol and could handle beer very well, so that's pretty much what he always had. he moved away from the table a bit so that he wouldn't add to the crowd, and as he raised the red cup to his lips to let the liquid trickle down his throat, his eyes scanned the crowd to see if his little sister was there. he hoped not but knew she probably was, with half a dozen guys hanging around her no doubt. eli promised his self that he would search for her later and was just beginning to wonder what to do next when a girl approached him, introducing herself. an easy, warm smile slid onto eli's lips as he gave a small nod and replied,
nice to meet you, i'm eli.
his eyes sparkled with amusement and good nature and he continued,
having fun yet?
