she couldn't believe it. honestly. via couldn't believe that luke managed to convince her to go to a club. that was one of the things she never wanted to do and here she was breaking her own rule. ever since her cousin moved in, she couldn't count how many things had changed, not to mention her personality. she had promised her parents that she would 'get out more' like a 'normal teenager'. yeah, what did they know of normal? via waited rather impatiently as the taxi driver talked to her- or well, more of himself. apparently he didn't catch the grip that she wasn't going to be talking to him anytime soon. these people had such low class that it was almost humiliating to be in their presence. "so, miss, why are you going to the club?" the driver asked. via rolled her eyes, not bothering to look at him. "my friend's taking me. apparently it's one of those parties that i shouldn't be missing," she said dismissively. that was true though. luke had told her about a new club opening and invited her to come. she had been completely hesitant about it at first, but when her mom somehow found out- how she did, via would never know- there was no escape. so there she was, on a friday night, in a taxi, getting ready to go. she wore a purely white dress with an orange necklace to compliment it. leave it to via to make sure that she looked perfect. of course whether it was perfect for a club was a whole different issue.
it was about time when via got to the club. she paid the driver, a couple bills less just because his driving was tacky and his mouth went faster than the traffic. she walked onto the sidewalk and stood next to the opening of the club. she had no idea on what to expect. the last time she had tried to get into a club with a couple friends, they were escorted home by the police. talk about fun. grounded for three weeks was punishment enough, not to mention the humiliation. via's brown eyes scanned the view, trying to look out for luke. she could hardly even hear herself think with the music so loud and mind blowing. these people definitely had poor taste in music. she shook her head in disapproval. why would luke even want to come here? the fact that the two were best friends, much less friends was a definite mystery. he had that aura about him that attracted people- mostly girls to his side. via had the tendency to push people away with her cold and bitter words. maybe it was their sarcasm that brought them together or something strange like that. whatever it was, it must have been magic. nobody would have ever seen a friendship like theirs. she applied another layer of lipstick as she waited for luke to come.

SOMETHING'S GETTING IN THE WAYsomething's just about to break Wicked lights flocked the whole joint, brightening up the place with many pastel colors. These hues hinted Luke's shaggy brown hair and bright blue eyes drastically as he walked around the club boredly. Not enough people from his school had arrived yet, and all he could find so far were cougars breathing down his neck. He was into all that stuff, sure, as long as it got him laid, but still... Some of them just looked like they had too much baggage. He'd rather get together with some girl from his school. Less of a situation or uproar if they were caught. Sparkling eyes roved the mass of people expectantly, and Luke flipped open his cell phone, eying the crowd. He'd asked his friend Via to come on down to the party - along with loads other people - but he wanted her to come most. She was one of his best friends oddly enough what with their different views and beliefs on certain matters and drastic personality differences. Still no sign, though... She wasn't the most social person ever, and Luke was guilty of trying to pry her out of her metaphorical turtle shell half the time. "Better to get out there and have some fun", he'd tell her, "'cause before you know it, you'll be an old hag whose man - if any - needs to use Viagra." Harsh, yes. But necessary. Olivia would probably have a lot more friends - even if their quality was in question - if she got herself out there.
Luke glanced around, the beat of this particular song making his entire torso reverberate with each thud. His gaze finally leveled with two girls - maybe around twenty - who were chatting and giggling together over their drinks. One was sober - he could tell from her less giddy expression - but the other was drunk as all hell. Her eyes were glazed over and her mouth hung open stupidly. Sweet. Lucas chuckled before swooping on in and sitting in between the girls with a smirk plastered across his features. "Hello, ladies." he greeted them, flicking his bangs out of his eyes with a twitch of his neck. "How's your night been so far, eh?" The sober one snorted at him like he was some annoying little kid who was clinging to her leg. The happy drunk one, however, giggled in answer. Luke smiled broadly at her. "Hey, did you grow up on a chicken farm? 'Cause you're really good at raising cocks-" Luke then glanced the figure standing just outside the club and recognized Via. He stood, hearing the sober one say something about immaturity while the drunk gal continued to laugh her ass off at absolutely nothing. Luke winked at her. "I'll be back later." he told her before reluctantly making his way to the entrance.
He fell into step behind Via, making sure he didn't give away he was there. Grinning wide, he reached his hands out to cover her eyes from where he stood and leaned in close. "Hey, sexy." he said in a husky voice that he knew would probably freak her out. But, it wasn't a lie. She was sexy. Luke never got why he didn't try to get into her pants. Maybe it was the whole valuing friendship thing. Ehh. "Guess who?" he said in a lighter tone - one that could easily be recognized as his own - after a few seconds. Popping out from behind her and letting his hands fall away, he righted his stance so that he was in front of her, facing her fully. There was just about an inch or two of difference between their heights, he guessed, and Luke looked down at her with optimistic eyes. Giving her a once over, he decided she must look pretty hot in her dress. A lot better than he did in his simple black T-shirt and pale blue, faded jeans. But whatever. "So, you decided not to ditch me. Cool. But, you think you can handle a super awesome club?" What he was really asking was, 'So, do you have your fake ID or what?' It was up to her to decipher the meaning behind the words. Otherwise, they'd be out on the sidewalk all night.

how she and luke became friends was quite a mystery. it was something that most people would've never expected. actually, even via was surprised that something ever came out of it. they were both completely different people. luke was friendly, outgoing, and flirty. she was cold, bitter, and tended to keep to herself. it was only when she was around her best friend that she showed any remote interest in their surroundings. she was usually able to be a lot, well, looser whenever he was around. she couldn't remember how many new 'friends' she made whenever he was with her. just having luke around made her much more relaxed. it was a nice feeling, but she couldn't afford to have the same softness all the time. the fact that he managed to get her to a club was another big achievement on his part. she wouldn't do this for anyone. but then again, no one else, beside him and layla, would've been able to challenge her like he had to do in order for her to go along. the last time she went to some place with so much... disgusting habits and drunks was in her freshmen year, checking out a beer party. she didn't stay longer than about three minutes so that might have said something. if luke hadn't dragged her out tonight, she probably would have been sitting in her dorm, watching gilmore girls reruns. via stiffened, feeling someone's hands covering her eyes. oh gawd, she didn't do anything for a moment, trying to figure out what would be best to do in the first place. that was until the boy, man, whatever spoke again. guess who? she crossed her arms, hearing the familiar voice. "a pervert?" she asked, mostly teasing, but still. he deserved it. she felt his hands go back to his sides and she got a good look at him. "oh look, i was right," she said, but said it with a smile.
smiling came so naturally to her whenever she was around her best friend and for some reason, it never seemed to go away. that was the thing about luke that she loved. he was one of those guys that people couldn't help but like. she also couldn't deny that he was quite attractive, but seeing him anything more than a brother was a little odd. plus, she wasn't willing to go into all this drama for a relationship that she knew wouldn't last for more than- what, a night? "super awesome? well it depends whether your definition is the same as mine," via shrugged and held up, with two fingers, the fak id she had gotten. she had never seen her best friend in his 'natural habitat', but for her, it was definitely out of this world. and not in a good way. the club was exactly as she imagined it. trashy, disgusting, and one place via would never be caught. still, luke knew how to get to her- especially with challenges, and she wasn't going to live it down now. it was also amazing how much she learned in this... enriching experience. she would have never expected that there would be someone who made fake ids for only ten dollars in the girls bathroom. it wasn't the best made, but eh, it'd have pass for now. it would probably be the last time she would ever use it too. via walked into the line and passed the id inspection with a doubt. then again, she pretended not to notice the guard looking her up and down as she waited patiently to be let in. she could easily pass as over twenty one. it was only three years off and she knew she carried herself in a mature way. the moment she walked in though, was a whole different matter. oh crap. what had she gotten herself into? via could hear the music blasting and honestly, the first thing that hit her mind was 'there's going to be a lot of deaf people in our generation'. yeah, she was one of them who always made sure they were set for the future, a good one. and being in clubs underaged was not her idea of safe. "so now what?" she asked, practically shouting above the music. were they going to stay here all night? if so, was her voice, along with her hearing, going to be gone by morning?

SOMETHING'S GETTING IN THE WAYsomething's just about to break Lucas opened his mouth and shut it again, a look of shock consuming his features like he was appalled that she'd dare to call him - him - a pervert. Even though a pretty smile laced the words, he still acted distraught if not just to get a reaction out of her. But he knew no matter how afflicted he pretended to be over the comment she'd see right through it like the insightful best friend she was - which got tiresome sometimes, he'd admit. He was a pervert, anyhow. Grab-ass and look-up-girl's-skirts extraordinare. He knew that Olivia looked down on that - as many other "good" girls did. She'd called him out on it a couple times before, but it wasn't nearly drastic enough to hurt their friendship. Just a mild annoyance that he figured that she figured was disgusting. He had completely different ideas about it, but he knew that trying to get her to listen to his twisted advice would only worsen the issue - if it could even be called and issue at the moment. Whatever. He liked sex. A lot. Was that a bad thing? Maybe it was to a certain degree when it just wasn't genuine anymore. But still. Sex had lost all that heartfelt shit to him a long time ago. And why am I thinking about sex anyways? he thought, blinking. It was funny how all of his thoughts just went straight to the taboo topic even with subtle hints like the kind she had just given him. Maybe it was just his not so brilliant self control at work. Hmmph.
"Super awesome? Well it depends whether your definition is the same as mine," she told him and for a moment he thought she hadn't gotten the hint. But, a shrug touched her shoulders and she lifted the fake ID up between two fingers. It was kind of shitty, he'd admit. But the dude up there was almost as much of a pervert as he. Chances were he wouldn't be looking at the ID anyways. Keeping in step with her as they waited to get back in, he smirked and tried not to chuckle at the dude up there looking her up and down like a piece of meat. As long as it was looking and not touching, Luke thought. He wasn't exactly the most protective person ever, but he knew if the dude decided to do something more or less inapproprate Via wouldn't like it. Which meant Luke would have to bash the guy's head open - even if he was bigger and had a truck load of more mucle and could probably pulverized him into fine dust. Still, it was one of those unspoken friend obligations to look out for one another, right? However, it seemed as though he wouldn't have to worry too much about that. Flashing their IDs, they were suddenly in, the music amazingly louder than it was outside. Luke blinked his bright blue eyes twice, getting a weird buzzing feeling in them after a couple seconds in the wailing beat of the trashy song that was playing. People were dancing in the center of the club, most with a drunken swagger that didn't look as tasteful as you'd think. Off to the side and along the bar, a myriad of dudes were taking shots and flirting stupidly with the girls beside them who looked like they'd rather be anywhere but there. In a secluded corner, people were making out and he averted his eyes so that Via wouldn't follow him. Chances were if she saw something like that she'd be out of there in a second.
Chancing a glance over at her to see how well she was taking their surroundings - more accepting than he'd figured - he grinned at her expression. "So now what?" he couldn't hear her. It was like the blaring music had slowed his brain the tiniest bit, all thoughts becoming less important. Or maybe that was the buzz. Whatever. It took a couple seconds for him to backtrack and get what she had said, his face crumpling into an expression of puzzlement. "Oh!" he said, finally getting it. Luke smirked at her and waved his arm around the club dismissively. "Well, what I usually do," he began, emphasising the word 'I' carefully. "is get totally wasted," He lifted his hand and started counting the steps on each digit like they were seriously important and supposed to be remembered. "accidentally follow a surprisingly pretty tranny into the bathroom because I think I'm going to get lucky, see the dick, scream, and run out." he told her, nodding all the time. Trying to catch her eye, he laughed outright. "Not that that's ever happened! I'm joking." He wasn't too sure if she'd believe him. "Actually. All I do is wander around if I'm here by myself and flirt with older woman and get either slapped or ditched. In a group... Well, same thing. 'Cept with other guys." He nodded, shrugging.
