{ PULL ME CLOSER TO LOVE , }when all the buildings fall and all of the stars fade , - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Leslie bit her lower lip as she took a final glance at herself in the mirror. Her petite and thin figure seemed oddly small for her surroundings, as well as her face was unusually pale. She had been staring at herself for quite a while now, it being one of those days where her insecurity kicked in. She found herself fairly normal looking, but there was just something that wasn’t right. But what was it? Her eyes? No, they were alright. Her cheekbones? Maybe. Her nose? Well, probably. Letting a small sigh escape her lips, she looked around her dorm rather impatiently. It was messy as usual, her clothes literally covering the carpet floor while all her makeup and jewelry was stacked up on her bed. Great she thought to herself rather bitterly. She was going to have to do a bit of cleaning before one of the supervisors would walk into her room and die of a heart attack.
Taking off her hair band, she let her hair fall down loosely behind her back as she resisted an urge to look back into the mirror. What on earth is wrong with me? she stepped onto her converse and bent down to tie the laces. It’s just Dash for god’s sake. We’re friends. That’s all. Yes they were just friends, and even though he had asked her out on a “friendly date” she was nearly hundred percent sure that he felt nothing more for her. Yet, he had the ability to make her go all warm inside. He literally turned her heart into jelly. Just thinking about it made her blush and nearly fall over. Shaking her head softly, she took a quick look at the clock on the wall before jumping up. If she wasn’t going to get a move on, she’d be late.
Closing her door quietly, Leslie basically ran down the corridor ignoring everyone she passed. Right now, she didn’t feel like stopping for a small chat, as well she didn’t even have the time for it. All she wanted was to get to her date on time, and finally see Dash. A small smile formed on her lips as she turned a corner and stepped out into the school grounds. The benefit of being a boarder was that literally everything was close to each other. And the school grounds connected all of the buildings together, so getting to building A from C was easy as hell.
Leslie stopped in midway, noticing that she was walking a little too fast. She didn’t want to seem like an excited little child but she couldn’t help herself. She was just so happy that it was nice and warm outside. Lies she thought to herself as she smirked. Obviously there were different reasons for why she was in such a good mood but that definitely wasn’t the main reason. She had to admit though; it was in fact a beautiful day outside, although rather windy as she came to notice just now. Wearing a small tank top that was rather loose on her thin body, she began to shiver as she waited for Dash to turn up...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SO WHY DON'T YOU LAY RIGHT HERE LET ME JUST EASE YOUR MIND I'M GIVING YOU ALL MY TIME ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He didn't know why he hadn't taken down the picture yet. All it did was remind him that Berkley was gone, and yet, he couldn't bring himself to. Even though it hurt to look at, he liked to see his brother's smile. Dashiel put the picture frame back down on his dresser, where all the other countless pictures of him and his friends were, and began rummaging through his drawers for something to wear for his date tonight. He had asked Leslie out on a whim with out really planning it out, but then again, Dash never really thought about things before doing them. He was a carpe diem type of guy; spontaneous and reckless.
Dash pulled out a plain white t-shirt and slid it over his head haphazardly as he looked around for his jeans. He slid those on and took one glance in the mirror before shaking his head, not bothering to use a comb. He never really cared about his appearance so he never bothered with hair product and such, he just had that natural 'just-got-out-of-bed' look which he always sported. Dash grabbed his keys and headed out his dorm room.
As he made his way down the stairs, he wondered if Leslie had gotten dressed up. He would feel bad for being under dressed and he suddenly felt slightly nervous. This was a date, with Leslie nonetheless, a girl he was defintely attracted to. He liked the way she bit her bottom lip when she was taking pictures with her camera, the way she was always focused on what she was doing, and the way her pictures always turned out. She was an artist, just like himself, but she wasn't pretentious or anything. He also liked the fact that she had a sense of humor and there was no denying she was very pretty.
The slightly chilly air hit his cheeks as he stepped out of the dormitory building. He stuffed his hands in his front pockets as he stepped onto the grass, his vans crunching the leaves as he went. Dash spotted her in an instant, and he felt compelled to draw her. Her flawless, pale skin was glowing but he could tell she was cold. He came up behind her, smiling his partly lazy grin. "hey" he breathed, looking down at her. If he were feeling a twinge of nervousness before, it instantly washed away. "I'm not late, am I?" he asked in his slight southern drawl, a sheepish grin spread across his pinkish lips.

{ PULL ME CLOSER TO LOVE , }when all the buildings fall and all of the stars fade , - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Leslie ran her hand through her wavy brown hair, trying to make it stay in place. The wind subdued a little, however it had a way of making her hair look incredibly messy, as if she never brushed it properly. Which she did. Every moment she got, she’d brush it, trying to control its wildness. It took her a minute to realize that she was standing in the middle of the school grounds rather awkwardly, as if paralyzed. Shaking her head quietly she tried to relax a bit, her cold and pale skin glimmering as goosebumps began to form on her arms. She should have worn a sweater. Actually, she had meant to take one with her but she had been too excited to get to her date on time that she had completely forgotten about that. She hugged her slender figure in an effort to warm herself up a bit, feeling every detail of her ribs with her fingers. Yes she knew was too thin. And as much as people said she was, she wasn’t anorexic. She ate normally and rarely did any sports. Hell, she ate like a pig at times. But people still had a tendency to call her “sickly thin”. Standing at exactly 5’0, she actually found her body size fairly normal compared to some people in her class. It wasn’t disproportional, yet it wasn’t perfect either.
Hey
Her eyes widened as she felt Dash come up behind her, feeling his breath against her neck. He was right behind her, not too close yet he was near enough for her to feel his breath warm her almost icy skin. It felt so good, yet so wrong. She didn’t want to move but realized that the longer he stood behind her, the more shivery she got as her stomach did a backward flip. It wasn’t because of him, but because of the warmth his body was producing.
She stumbled slightly, nearly falling over, as she turned around to face him. “H-hey” she managed to stutter as she looked up at him brightly. As she heard him speak again, she snapped out of her stupidity. But only for a second. Hearing his southern accent made her want to grab him and force him to speak more, but she restrained herself. Why did he have to be the way he was? Even with his ‘out-of-bed-look’ he was close to perfection next to the awkward Leslie. He was just… “Dash” she whispered quietly, noticing only too late that she had said his name out loud. She felt like smacking herself this very moment. Why was it that with all her guy friends she could interact completely normally with. But when it came to Dash, the only thing she saw herself doing was making a complete fool out of herself. “Uhm I mean: Hey Dash! And no you’re not late; I actually just got here myself!” she tried to make herself sound completely normal, as if she hadn’t just humiliated herself. Of course as useless as she always was in these things, she failed miserably.
Trying to not make things more awkward, she took a step back and forced a somewhat believable grin to form on her lips. “So what have you gotten planned for tonight?” she asked quietly, her Scottish accent barely noticeable.

And no you’re not late; I actually just got here myself!” Dash grinned, he could sense she was nervous and it was really re-assuring that he wasn't the only one. Dash, though, didn't let his nerves show. He was always so calm and collected and blasé about everything. He heard a hint of a Scottish accent, and smiled, putting his arm over her shoulders nonchalantly. He loved her slight accent, it sounded very exotic to Dash, being from a place like Raleigh, North Carolina. Even though her accent wasn't very strong, he still found the way she spoke undeniably sexy. “So what have you gotten planned for tonight?” Dash smiled as they began to head off-campus. "That, Lesliekins, would be a surprise." he said, his drawl lolling out casually. The sun was still shining, it wasn't even six o'clock yet. This was good, it gave them time to do what they were doing. It would be more romantic to watch the sunset, Dash thought to himself.
He hated to admit but deep down, Dashiel Milton was a hopeless romantic. He blamed his father for always being such a sap with his mother. He remembered as a child- before everything went wrong- He would always watch his father bring his wife gorgeous bouquets of flowers for no reason, or recite poetry to her. John Milton liked to think he was the next best thing since Shakespear. Bethany Milton knew otherwise, but she never complained. That was where Dash got some of his quirky habits. His playful side he got more from his father, who was as jovial as saint Nicholas. His calmer side he got from his mother, who was a bit more pretentious than necessary before she met John. Dash liked how his parents used to be, before the unspeakable happened.
Dash and Leslie continued walking, his arm still around her slender shoulders. He liked how they fit together and the fact that she was so light, he could carry her. At a whopping six feet tall, he towered over Leslie, but it was another thing he found absolutely adorable. "So I saw Mr. Byrd down the halls today and I told him we'd be doing it together" he said, looking down and watching their shoes over the pavement. He realized what he'd said and how wrong it sounded and let out a nervous laugh. "The project, I mean." Dash cleared his throat subtly and continued on. "But yeah, lets not worry about the project. Tonights' just me and you." He said, looking down at her and giving her a small wink. It was a strange feeling, how he could be totally and completely himself around Leslie, but still feel the butterflies fluttering around his stomach. He hadn't felt like this in a while and he had almost forgotten how much he liked it.

{ PULL ME CLOSER TO LOVE , }when all the buildings fall and all of the stars fade , - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Leslie smiled warmly as Dash grinned at her, the color her cheeks turning into a soft shade of pink. Clearing her throat, she looked away hoping that he hadn’t noticed her blush. Yes he did make her nervous, but she wasn’t blushing because of that. She was actually rather embarrassed. Embarrassed for being the way she was, for being completely and utterly mesmerized by him to even function properly. It was weird actually since she was usually the outgoing and bubbly type who would never shut up, and who would always be busy doing something because of how much energy her small body could contain. But when it came to things like love, she was as useless as a broken television. Most girls in her grade had a lot of experience with boys; going out partying with them every weekend because it was considered “cool”, making out with them as if there was no tomorrow, and eventually sleeping with them because that’s what human beings did with each other, right? Right. Well definitely not Leslie. Sure she had made out with a few guys before while going out, but it disgusted her. She disgusted herself at times with what she was capable of doing… but that was all in the past. Being a junior now, she wanted to do things differently. Take them slow. To know that the time would come when it was right.
She jumped slightly as she felt Dash put his arm around her. His touch, his skin against her bare skin, the warmth, the electricity that passed through Leslie’s body at that instant made her nearly faint as they way made their way to heaven off-campus. "That, Lesliekins, would be a surprise." she heard him say but she wasn’t even concentrating to properly understand him. His voice felt like music to her ears, while his southern accent sent shivers down her spine. Never before had she analyzed him so well. Then again they had never spent quality time with each other, him being a senior and all. He had his own friends while she had hers. Two totally different groups, yet she felt like she connected with him better than she did with anyone else. Maybe it was because she had more art classes than she did any other class, and they’d spend countless class hours just talking about art, or maybe it was just the small feeling in her gut that told her there was more to him than just the funny artsy flirtatious side of Dashiel Milton.
"So I saw Mr. Byrd down the halls today and I told him we'd be doing it together" she heard him say again as she let out a soft yet nervous laugh escape her lips. "The project, I mean." She relaxed a bit, making herself comfortable next to him. Her nervousness was beginning to subdue a little as they continued on walking. The more they talked, actually the more he talked, the more ‘comfortable’ she became with her feelings towards him. “Well at least that saves me from telling him” she replied as she smiled up at him lazily.
“So where are we going?” she asked slightly puzzled, noticing that they were getting closer to the beach. She was about to say something else but stopped as her foot got stuck onto a big rock. She tried to restrain herself from falling, but tripped and collapsed onto the ground next to Dash’s tall figure.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SO WHY DON'T YOU LAY RIGHT HERE LET ME JUST EASE YOUR MIND I'M GIVING YOU ALL MY TIME ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The beach was a bit chilly but nonetheless, gorgeous. The sun was still shining brightly over the ocean, making it seem as if the blue water was sparkling. Although the sight was beautiful, Dash loved nothing more than a stormy day at the beach. The way the colors in the sky mixed with the grey and how the water cast off a glow, making it seem much more intriguing than the beach on a generic, sunny day. That was what Dashiel loved about Leslie's eyes. They were the same color of the water on a stormy day. They also seemed to glow sometimes, making her intriguing and much more fun to watch. The drawing he had of her was an abstract painting. It was an eye- her eye- but it could be easily mistaken for the ocean. Dash loves abstract paintings and were what he seemed to be good at. He liked how there could be a hidden meaning under something as simplistic as two colors and he liked being cryptic. How someone could find their own meaning in a painting.
As they neared the beach, Dash suddenly felt a tug and then, an empty space from where he had his arm around Leslie. He looked down to find her on the floor, collapsed, her foot caught slightly over a rock peeking out of the sand. Dash suppressed a smile and knelt over beside the petrified looking Leslie. "You alright?" He asked, worried. He glided his hand to where her foot was and checked it for a sprain. "I don't think it's sprained, can you stand up?" he asked, standing up himself and giving her his hand for her to hoist herself up on. He saw that she wasn't responding and smiled warmly down at her. She was probably embarrassed but he didn't see why she had to be. He didn't think any different of her but Leslie was a very shy girl.
