WHEN THE BLOOD DRIES IN MY VEINS
AND MY HEART FEELS NO MORE PAINIndigo wandered down the beach, a little further away from the nearby car park. It was evening, so the beach was more or less empty, but she still didn't want to be in the particular spot. Seeing as there was somewhere to leave the car not too far, the stretch of beach immediately in front of said car park was the place that tourists favoured. They didn't live here and so generally just wanted a tan rather than peace. Of course, as far as she could see, Indie was alone at this time, but she walked further now out of nothing but habit. The beach became a little rockier if she walked for a while, and over the thick of the rocks the sand reappeared. It was secluded here, though she could have picked anywhere. She had passed a young man out with his dog a while back, but aside from that, no one. She had been here her whole life, she had time to wander down the beach rather than just lay down a towel in the first available spot. It was cooler now, obviously the lack of sun made that obvious, but it was still warm, more temperate. She enjoyed the beach much more in the evening, free of the masses and less blisteringly warm. In her opinion, this time of day won, always. She didn't have much anything with her, she had left her purse in the car, under the seat, of course. Just a pair of sandals in her hand for when she hit the car park again.
She was due to meet Noah here, a friend of hers, much to her dismay. Indigo had kinda sorta found herself with a crush. Which irritated her. Noah was a close friend, she didn't have time to complicate things and she wasn't used to feeling emotionally vulnerable. It wasn't something that she was comfortable with and it was, it had to be said, annoying her. What was more, Noah was, to say the least, totally oblivious. Not only as a general state, but oblivious to Indie's feelings, though she couldn't blame him. She wasn't exactly the type to bat her eye lashes and play the air head to endear him. She hadn't really done much different, aside for take her frustrations out on him and snap. Indigo wasn't even sure if she wanted him to know. Surely only bad things could come from him knowing such a fact, but she still found herself annoyed all the same. In truth, she did feel bad for snapping at him. Noah was like a teddy bear, laid back, light hearted. He relaxed her, and she was guaranteed to act a whole lot more goofy when she was around him. He had done nothing wrong, it wasn't his fault that he was blissfully ignorant and that she was exceptionally good at disguising her emotions. Still, the whole situation was wrong. And it invariably led back to her. It was her fault for liking him in a way she shouldn't have.
It was probably a bit of a vague meeting place, but they had been there before. Plus, once he was over the rocks, she would be the only person there. Not exactly too hard to spot. They often came to the beach at night, she wasn't sure if Noah liked it as much as she did, or if he was just obliging her, but either way, he came. The sky was a strange shade of blue, the fleeting stage before it became dark, the sun had more or less set, leaving a peculiar but not unattractive hue amongst the clouds. Dropping her sandals, she sat down on the sand, pulling her legs closer to her chest, feet flat against the ground. Leaning back, she propped herself up with her hands behind her and stared aimlessly into the sky. It was lovely, if you liked that sort of thing. Indie decided she did. It was a cliche sunrise, or the sun sinking over the horizon. Not something out of a Hollywood film. She liked that the sky looked a bit obscure, but still pretty. An absent minded smile played at the corner of her lips, just barely touching her mouth, closing her eyes. It was nice tonight. notes there we go song take it like a man - dragonette lyrics end credits - chase and status words seven one four[/blockquote]

OH, YOU GOT ME, YEAH YOU GOT ME
IT'S SAFE TO SAY I'M DONE WITH RUNNING AWAYThe evening was one of those evenings in which Noah typically lost himself in. It was absolutely beautiful. Everything about it made him have those warm feelings inside and it in turn made him happy. Gripping the steering wheel of his camaro, he diverted his attention from the road to the sky periodically as he embarked on his exodus towards the beach. It wasn't that far of a drive to be honest, but it was one that he had made several times in the past. It was one of he and Indigo's meeting places that they had established. One of the many, actually. The beach was one of his favorite places to be. Especially at night when it wasn't so crowded and the sun wasn't so unbelievably hot. He was an old fashioned guy. Noah loved the feeling of the sand beneath his toes and the sun warm on his back. He loved listening to the ocean as it crashed against the rocks. In a way, he wished he lived a little closer to the beach. Oh, the things he wouldn't give to fall asleep every single night to the sounds of the water splashing off of the rocks. Grinning a little, he turned his music up a little bit more as the lines on the road blurred together. He was a good driver, an excellent one at that, just sometimes he got distracted by the thoughts of the day. Shaking his head a little, he tightened his grip on the steering wheel again and paid a little more attention to the road and the direction he was going. It was going to be an interesting evening and really, he couldn't wait for it.
Upon arriving at the beach, he pulled his car into a vacant parking spot and killed the engine. The sounds of the waves on the rocks immediately calmed him down. See, Indigo was one of those girls that he absolutely loved to be around. If he could be around her all the minutes that were contained within the day, he'd gladly do just that. She was different than all of the girls that he'd come to know. They had a unique friendship and that's what he liked about her. Opening up the car door and stepping out, he slammed the door behind him and made his way down the beach. His shoes were left in the car, because he'd rather go barefoot. After all, that was what the beach was for. Shoving his hands into the front pockets of his jeans, he made his way down the beach, taking in the beauty that the sky had painted upon it's canvas. Noah was a man of details. He saw things that other people didn't typically notice. He saw the blues and the purples that the sky was painted and it almost took his breath away. Man, if anyone knew how much of a girl he was really, he'd be criticized the rest of his life. For eighteen, he was ridiculously mature. Looking at the sky as he walked, he didn't pay much attention to the world around him. He tended to find one thing to focus on. That's exactly what he did as he cascaded down the beach.
The night was perfect. The sky was lit up and the weather was warm. The beach was almost abandoned and that was the way that he liked it. Regardless of popular belief, Noah wasn't that much of a people person. He didn't like running into strangers and having conversations with them. As a matter of fact, he tried to avoid that all together. However, if it were people he already knew and liked, that was a different story. As it probably was with everyone else alive. Shaking his head with a grin at his own thoughts, he neared the rocks to which he needed to cross in order to be at he and Indigo's spot. Walking towards the girl, the smile on his face widened. She had to be one of the more beautiful girls in all of Santa Ria. Finally reaching the girl, he grinned and placed a kiss on her cheek before falling into the sand and propping himself up on his side. Noah was a friendly guy and he liked to make an entrance. So, what is up with you tonight, baby girl? Did you miss me? he grinned again. Tonight was going to be a good night. It was strange, he didn't need to know anything about the evening, but as long as it was with Indigo, he already knew it was. There was something about her. notes ha, stole this from you song southern skies -- holiday parade lyrics southern skies -- holiday parade words eight oh six [/blockquote]

WHEN THE BLOOD DRIES IN MY VEINS
AND MY HEART FEELS NO MORE PAINAs Noah's figure appeared on the jagged horizon of rocks to her left, she looked for a moment, eventually lifting her hand, waving into the distance. She didn't smile though, not that he could have seen from that far if she did. It wasn't that Indie didn't want to be here, she loved spending time with Noah, but she found that her thoughts were more collected as of late if she wasn't near him. Being the kind of person Indie was, she didn't react in the same was to having a crush as most young ladies might. For one, she hadn't really liked anyone much before. She was too busy to add a guy into the mix, that would only complicate things. Aside from that though, she didn't like strange sensations in her stomach that she couldn't control. Her heart beating just a little faster than it should wasn't welcome to a girl like her. For the most part, Indigo was a very refined young woman, in control of herself, if nothing else. Girlish sensations didn't appeal to her, they just unnerved her, and when she was unnerved, she got snappy. Well, when she was unnerved, she got more snappy. She wasn't unaware that she could be a little abrasive, she was okay with that, but these stupid feelings only made her more so. Unfortunately, she usually took it out on Noah. She felt bad, but usually when he was sending her mind whirring, he was the only one there to direct her irritance onto. Poor boy, she was almost 100% sure that Noah hadn't the faintest idea why she had been so moody with him as of late. Still, she wasn't about to clarify.
As he neared, she gave him a measured smile. Hopefully her less than content facial expression wasn't as clear in the dim lighting. She dropped her eyes. The colour of them was inexplicably pale, a kind of medley of greenish grey-yellow. She just called them grey, it was easier. In any case, they were bright enough in the available light to give her away. She felt the heat burn on her cheeks as he planted a perfectly ordinary kiss on her cheek. That was another thing. Noah was a friendly young man, which was lovely. He was comfortable enough with her to great her in such a way, but every time he did, it did something strange to the already slightly sick feeling in her stomach. To him it was a harmless greeting, for her it only complicated things. And made her more annoyed at his blissful ignorance. Of course, she wouldn't be over-dramatic. It wasn't as if she was desperately in love with him, just every time he did something that was characteristic of him to do, it made her head hurt. She was fine at basically keeping her mother, and earning the wage so that they didn't get evicted, but with a simple high-school crush? Useless. "Hey" she said, every effort to make her greeting sound languid and happy summoned.
"I've been working all evening." she shrugged, lifting her hand, letting the sand run through her fingers. She arched a brow, looking up at him without really lifting her head. "As if." she rubbed her hands together, dusting the sand off them, placing them on her lap. It seemed wrong to be so relaxed now that Noah had graced the beach with his presence. Truly, she had no idea why that had struck her, though she responded to it in any case. Indigo's mind wasn't even always clear to her, but it was hers and if she couldn't obey her own thoughts, she should probably just have given up. "I missed my bed, thats about it." she said pulling her hands into the sleeves of her fine cardigan, leaving only her finger tips showing. It wasn't cold here, and she wasn't, but her fingers seemed to be icy. She flexed them a little, but ignored it. It wasn't particularly uncomfortable, though they did look a little red. Pulling her knees up to her chest, she folded her arms on top, resting her chin on top her wrist. She looked up at Noah, too well liked to be alone on the beach with a girl who was only going to snap at him, yet here he was. "Where've you been?" she asked, the question coming out bored. She widened her eyes a little, hoping to soften the blunt tone in her voice. She hadn't exactly meant it to come out like that. Not entirely different, but maybe at least a little interested. Still, she had said it now. Indie tapped her fingers noiselessly on sleeves of her cardigan, the cold sensation in the tips dulled as they hit the soft fabric. It was slowly growing darker. Better to hide her face.

OH, YOU GOT ME, YEAH YOU GOT ME
IT'S SAFE TO SAY I'M DONE WITH RUNNING AWAYNoah didn't let the small things get to him. That just wasn't the type of guy that he was. He didn't stress the things that didn't matter in the big scheme of things. For instance, Indigo had been snappy with him lately. He didn't stress it too much. He didn't understand why she was, but it wasn't something that he was going to lose sleep over. Regardless of the things she said to him, he was still going to come to the beach whenever she asked him to. That was just the way things went. Noah and Indigo were close enough by that point where it didn't really matter what she said or did to him, he'd still do whatever she wanted him to. He was her protector and quite frankly, he liked it. He watched as he waved and he grinned as he approached her. Noah wasn't much for smiling. He was more of a grinner when someone analyzed him. There weren't a whole lot of people that could make him actually smile. That was something the people of Santa Ria had yet to see. Girls were complicated and he tried his best not to get involved with them as much as other males seemed to. Noah was typically the best friend. He was never really the boyfriend and whatnot. That was something he didn't particularly mind. Girls only complicated things and as much as he hated to admit it, he didn't need them. For the time being, he just liked their company. He wasn't worried about much else.
When it came to his actions, Noah didn't think about them all that often. He did what he wanted and didn't really care about the consequences or the repercussions that followed them. Kissing Indigo's cheek was just instinctive. He didn't think about it as anything more than friendly. Given the fact he was the "best friend" type, he just did the things he wanted and never expected anything in return. That was not the way that he functioned. Noah sometimes put himself first, but typically, he put others first. The kiss on the cheek was more for Indigo's benefit. It was more or less an attempt at getting her to smile. She had one of the more beautiful smiles he had ever seen and she chose to hide it more often than not. It wasn't right. At least in his eyes. The way she greeted him back made him raise his eyebrow. She was trying to play it off like she was happy, but he wasn't as dense as he looked. Noah picked up on a lot of the little details that people tried to hide. Though, he could tell she didn't want to say something, so he let it go. He hated being pressured to tell people things he didn't want to talk about. So, of course, he let it go.
He watched as the sand slipped through her fingers and fell back to the earth ever so effortlessly. It reminded him of his past. He tried so hard to lock them all away behind doors that he thought that he had closed forever, but the longer he sat there, the more doors he opened. It reminded him of Sophie. It reminded him of the day that she told him that she had lost the baby. He had let the love of his life slip through his fingers just like the sand was slipping through Indigo's fingers. No one really knew about his past and about how close he came to being a father. Those specific details of his life were the details he tried with all of the might that he possessed to hide from the world. I missed my bed, that's about it he heard her say and his thoughts snapped back to reality. He scoffed a little and shook his head. Liar, he joked. Noah was light-hearted. He didn't like being serious all the time because really, there was no fun in that. Fun was what Noah aimed for and he did just about everything he possibly could in order to obtain "fun". I've been driving over here. Where do you think I've been? he said before pushing himself up to his feet. Shaking his head at Indigo, Noah unbuttoned his shirt and tossed it to the ground. You're boring. I'll meet you in the water, he said before turning and running towards the ocean and diving headfirst into the water. notes you probably should be honored. song southern skies -- holiday parade lyrics southern skies -- holiday parade words seven eight oh [/blockquote]

WHEN THE BLOOD DRIES IN MY VEINS
AND MY HEART FEELS NO MORE PAINShe shrugged, turning to pick up a handful of sand. Noah looked a little preoccupied and that was fine by her. Whatever he was thinking about had seemed to soften the sharp tone of her words. It did cross her mind to inquire as to why he looked so thoughtful, but she thought best not to. They had only just gotten here, she didn't want to dampen the mood already, in any case, if Noah needed to talk to Indigo about anything remotely deep, he usually approached her. She didn't feel like trying to extract the information from him. Lifting her eyes for a split second, she glanced up at him. Her feeling of annoyance still lingered, and though she wished it was otherwise, it was directed at him. The vacant expression on his face made her feel worse. He could be thinking about anything, Indie didn't necessarily know what might have been troubling him. He might have been thinking about what to have for lunch tomorrow, but he could also have cancer. He could have a long lost brother. He could want a sex change operation, how did she know. She smiled to herself at the last thought. The image of Noah in a dress and high heels, looking thoroughly awkward, was now present in her mind. It helped somewhat to lighten her mood. She was fairly certain that such an image translated into reality could turn her into little miss sunshine. Noah was quite masculine looking, in fact very. The notion of him in anything feminine seemed hilarious to her. Though she was sure most men would look just as ridiculous.
Indie pursed her lips as he rose, watching his fingers go to buttons. She had seen him take off his shirt a million times before when they were going in the water, but given the current circumstances, it was slightly more interesting. Dropping her gaze, she felt the heat creep along her cheeks once more. Her eyes caught the material as it fell not to far from her, onto the sand. She glanced up to see Noah shaking his head. Leaning back, she arched a brow and looked up at him, amused. "Boring?!" she retorted, a hint of disbelief in her tone. Indie wasn't boring. Agressive, yes, boring, no. But then, perhaps she was being boring. She was trying to avoid too much interaction so as not to be awful to Noah. She could see his point. Standing, she dropped her cardigan onto the ground beneath her. It fell onto her sandals, starting off a neat little pile. Bright had a kind of long top on, fairly floaty, but short enough to need short to acompany it. She pulled the soft gauze over her head, letting it drop to her feet. Left in cut off shorts and pale green half vest, she meandered forwards to the waters edge. The top mimiced her eyes, though in the dim light, it wasn't really visible. She moved forward, the cool water hitting her feet and ankles first. It wasn't uncomfortable, but it was a little cooler than she had expected, and she gasped a little. "You're boring" she challenged, nearing Noah. Naturally, she was shorter than he was, and so the water came further up on her, she looked down. The cool liquid was quite a pretty colour in this light, though it was always fairly appealing.
She waded further in, the water hitting the curve of her waist. Spreading her arms behind her, she leaned back until she was able to float. "And about to get splashed." she said, kicking violently a few times. There was deffinately water flying everywhere, but she wasn't exactly sure as much of it had gotten on Noah as it had on herself. Standing, she wiped her hands down her face, gasping a little at the cold sensation. Luckily, through a combination of laziness and being happy enough with her appearance, Indigo didn't wear make-up most of the time. If she was going somewhere special perhaps, but she chose not to wear it mostly. Living in California, she figured it was easier to not have to. The residents here were tanned, the sun, on the whole, made their skin nicer. At least it did for Indigo, but then, she had never lived any where else. It might have been a lucky gene. She had no idea.

OH, YOU GOT ME, YEAH YOU GOT ME
IT'S SAFE TO SAY I'M DONE WITH RUNNING AWAYNoah really didn't like to let the bothers of his every day life get to him. The things in life that were worth getting angry over were small and rare. He didn't let the unimportant factors of life get the best of him. He embraced life to it's fullest and he tried his hardest to live every day as his last. Life was too short to worry about stupid, pointless things, when there was so much that the world had to offer him. So, typically, he didn't let people know much about his past. He didn't like it when the people he knew or cared about worried about him and the types of things he'd been through. He didn't like it when people felt sympathy for him. Noah was a guy and he didn't like feeling weak. Finally picking up on the fact that Indigo was looking at him with slight concern, he put another grin on his face. Again, he didn't want her to know that he was thinking. Typically, curiousity brought forth questioning and Noah wasn't ready to give any answers. For a guy, he was relatively confusing and abnormally complicated. Though, still, that was who he was and he wasn't planning on changing himself for anyone. Noah tended to get distracted rather easily. As he sat there and thought about his past, he couldn't help but think about the ocean and how amazing it would be to live in it. It must have been nice for the underwater creatures that lived in the ocean. All they had to worry about was not getting eaten everyday. They were free to swim around as they pleased and they didn't have to worry about the drama that came with everyday life. Shaking his head, he again, snapped back to reality.
The thing about Noah was that he had a rather bad habit of taking his clothes off. He didn't quite understand why he felt the need to be shirtless all the time. If it was not socially acceptable, he probably wouldn't ever wear clothing. Of course, Noah had a perfectly decent body that society probably wouldn't frown upon him should he not ever wear clothing, but he insisted on being just like everyone else and to wear clothes. Throwing his shirt to the ground, he made his way towards the water. As soon as the water rushed over his body, his muscles instantly relaxed and his spirits lifted. It was incredible just how much the little things affected Noah. Someone could say hello to him and it could completely brighten up his day. There were a lot of factors to his personality and every single of them made him that much more incredible. He couldn't help himself but to laugh when he heard the tone she used when he called her boring. He shook his head and he rubbed the water from his hair. Noah had a tendency to be a jerk, sure, but what guy didn't? The difference between he and the rest of the male population was that all his "jerkiness" was purely in a joking sense. It was all fun and games to him. He didn't take anything very seriously.
The way that the two of them entered the water, explained a lot about their personalities. Noah for instance, dove headfirst into the ocean without a single care in the world and unaware of what may lie beyond the vision of the surface. Indigo, however, waded into the water slowly. In a way, she tested it out before getting too far over her head. That was the way that each of them handled life. Noah didn't care about the consequences of his actions and Indigo merely tested the waters. It was all very interesting and Noah had a good time analyzing it all out in his head. Standing in the water, he watched as she laid on her back and allowed herself to float. Once he heard her speak and inform him that he was about to be splashed, it didn't even register until he was getting hit in the face with waves of water. He began to laugh as he attempted to splash her back. They were like two really big kids playing in a swimming pool. Playfully growling at Indigo, he lept forward, grabbed her, and pulled her under the water with him. She was different than the other girls. He could completely be himself around her. He needed to remember to thank her for that. notes iii like them, they're cute. song southern skies -- holiday parade lyrics southern skies -- holiday parade words seven eight six [/blockquote]
