It was Saturday afternoon and Castiel wasn’t going to be staying in his dorm room any longer. He woke up around ten that morning, jumped in the shower and got dressed to go to the park, there was bound to be a pick up game going on at one of the fields at this time of day with some of the guys that lived in the city. It was a routine really, every Saturday afternoon from around twelve to three he went down to the park to play a sport, most of the time it being soccer, but occasionally he did mix in some basketball, after he was done playing he went back to his dorm, jumped in the shower again and went to work later that night. Before leaving his dorm room he chugged a whole bottle of water to hydrate a bit, grabbed himself two Gatorades out of his mini-fridge put them in his sports bag, which was designed to keep them cold; grabbed the keys to his motorcycle and was out the door and to the park.
As usual when he got down to his bike in the parking lot he walked around it completely to make sure it was still in one piece, hopped on, revved the engine and was on his way. After a short ride down to Riddell Park he parked his bike, put the keys in his bag, locked the bag so the combination had to be put in to open it and began to walk around the park for the usual soccer game. After about five minutes he found the game and before he even put his bag down, one of the guys told him he was already chosen and to hurry up and get on the field. Quickly he stretched his legs out and ran onto the field to his team which was currently huddled deciding who would play where and right away, as he always did, was told to play center midfield.
After two straight hours of playing he needed to take a break and subbed himself out of the game with someone who showed up late. Walking over to a near by bench he grabbed his bag, unlocked it, and chugged a whole bottle of Gatorade. Taking deep breaths he pulled out a towel from the bag and wiped his face before rubbing his hair in it since his head was drenched in sweat. Taking his shirt off he put it in his bag and went to grab his spare shirt but realized it wasn’t in the bag and then realized he forgot to put it in before he left. “Damn it.” he muttered to himself. He didn’t want to put the shirt back on because he always thought sweaty shirts felt uncomfortable after taking them off and trying to put them back on. Leaning back against the bench he began to relax and slowly began to drink the second Gatorade, even though he always preferred to wear a shirt, he had to admit the breeze was feeling good.

Saturdays were usually 'brunch (or lunch, depending on timing) with Amy' days for Kensi. So her older half-sister would pick Kensi up at school, then they'd either go out to some cafe, or back to Amy's house. Kensi would catch Amy up on the latest about school, and Amy would catch Kensi up on the latest town gossip she'd heard (while Kensi, not caring in the slightest about who was hooking up with whom, would desperately try to change the subject). She didn't even know how Amy seemed to know everything she knew. Amy attributed it to being a florist (apparently florists knew everything about everyone, it was in the job description), and Kensi attributed it to Amy just knowing pretty much everyone.
Then they'd usually go on over to Amy's shop for a while, Amy trying to get Kensi's opinion on some flower arrangement or another, and Kensi trying to remind Amy that she wasn't even sure of the difference between a tiger lily and a normal lily. So Kensi would end up just smiling and nodding at whatever it was that Amy seemed most enthusiastic about (always a good way of going about things). Then she'd go get her daily run in by jogging back to school through the park, leaving Amy to gather gossip and cut flowers. It was a long jog back, but the weather was almost always nice, and so Kensi just made it the longest jog of the week, and left it at that. Besides, running into friends at the park and either hanging out there or taking a bus back or something wasn't unheard of, and there was also the simple fact that she liked the run.
Her thick hair pulled back into a ponytail, Kensi jogged across the park at a good clip. Not too fast, but not overly slow either. Autumn weather was always much nicer to run in than summer, though it was still warm enough that she was wearing shorts and had a tank top on underneath her light sweatshirt. Sleeves pushed up to her elbows, the brunette ran through the park, glancing around at kids on the playground, and over at various people on the basketball court or tennis court or soccer fields.
Recognizing one of the guys over on the soccer fields, Kensi jogged on over to say hello. Smirking a little at her currently shirtless friend, Kensi pulled up to a stop next to him. "You forget something, Xavi?" She asked a bit teasingly.

Castiel could slowly feel the breeze getting stronger and stronger on his chest, and the more he sat there relaxing the more the sweat went away. With the towel in his hands he wiped his arms down to get rid of the sweat that wasn’t gone yet and threw the towel in his bag along with his other shirt, and added the second Gatorade bottle to finish it off. Saturday afternoons were always fun because of how easy it was for him to play. He was easily the best player on the field and playing with no coaches meant that he didn’t always have to play his position; playing a pick up game at the park meant he had the freedom to go farther forward in attack more then normal. Leaning back against the bench he closed his eyes and just enjoyed the peace and quiet for a little while longer before he suddenly heard someone call him by his middle name.
Only a handful of people ever called him by his middle name because only a handful of people knew it. And since this voice was female he knew right away who it was, and grinned at what she said. By now Kensi would have known him long enough to know that he never walked around without a shirt on unless he forgot his extra shirt, and her teasing question made that very obvious. “Me forget something? Of course not…” he responded with a big grin on his face as he looked up at her. Standing up he walked over and purposely hugged her tightly so her sweater would be completely smelly with his sweat odor and pulled away laughing. Normally when they ran into each other and he was a bit sweaty, he would have his spare shirt on so there would be no problem in giving her a hug but not today. Looking at her sweater he could see a few wet marks and smirked trying not to laugh some more.
“Come on Kens, I think we both know you knew I forgot my extra shirt before you even got over here to point it out. You know by now that I don’t walk around shirtless in public.” he said with a grin on his face. There was an exception of course, the only being when he went down to the beach but that wasn’t often. “Although I did forget I was shirtless when I hugged you just then, must have slipped my mind.” he added with a casual grin as if he was telling the truth but the lie was clearly etched all over his face as he sat back down on the bench. “Spent the day with Amy I am guessing? How’s she doing?” Cas knew by now that every Saturday she would meet her sister for whatever it is they did, he was never interested in the details, all he knew was the spent the morning together.

Had she been any other girl, Kensi's reaction to the sudden, sweaty hug would probably have been to shriek in disgust and leave after turning up her nose. As it was, she probably should have suspected the hug the second Xavi started walking towards her with that grin of his. Momentarily distracted by the goings on over on the basketball court, she didn't realize he was about to hug her until his arms were already wrapped tightly around her. She let out something between a yelp and a laugh of surprise, and then made a face at him when he pulled away. "Thanks for that. And yes I'm sure we both knew that then, and one of us knows it even better now." Kensi added with a mock pout.
He continued on, unnecessarily reminding her that they both knew that he rarely walked around shirtless. True, but that didn't mean she was going to miss out on an opportunity to tease him. That would just have been silly. And not nearly as much fun. Though granted, not teasing would probably have left her with a much drier sweatshirt, but hey, she was a big girl, she could deal. She smirked back when Xavi added that his shirtlessness must have slipped his mind when he'd hugged her. "Your loss, I could have offered it to you, but now it's just as useless as your shirt." Of course the 'offer' was more just for the sake of jesting than anything, considering that there was a significant size difference between the two that would have prevented her only slightly-oversized sweatshirt from doing Xavi any good. "And I think we both know by now that revenge is sweet, sweet justice, my friend." She added mock-seriously, though the mischievous twinkle in her eye showed that most likely, she would indeed extract revenge at some point.
She followed Xavi back to the bench and plopped down beside him, pulling off her sweatshirt as she did so. Unceremoniously tossing it onto the ground in front of her, Kensi leaned forward, resting her now-bare elbows on her knees. Good thing it was warm enough that the sweatshirt hadn't been completely necessary, or said revenge would have been swift and merciless. But she was just as comfortable wearing her tank top and shorts, so payback wasn't necessary immediately. That, and she'd mainly worn the sweatshirt for when she'd been indoors, and probably would have taken it off at some point on her run anyway.
Xavi correctly guessed that she'd been with Amy earlier in the day, and asked how she was doing. "She's good." Kensi replied, knowing that he was mainly asking to be polite, and planning on keeping the 'so how was your day' part of the conversation as short and painless as possible. "You wouldn't believe the amount of gossip florists know, though. Trust me, I had to listen to it all morning." She added with a laugh. "So how's your day been? You totally destroy everyone else out there?" She asked, nodding over at the soccer field.

When it came to Kensi Cas tended to clown around a lot. Kensi was kind of like a cousin to him, the kind of cousin he’d pull jokes on and then have to keep a very sharp eye on because of the payback she might have planned. Right now there was no chance of revenge; she couldn’t push him into an ocean, a pile of dirt or anything else. For now he was safe, but he was going to make sure tonight that his dorm room door was locked so she couldn’t sneak in. And just like he thought she mentioned revenge and even though she sounded like she was joking he knew full well she meant every word of it. Looking back at it now though he wouldn’t have minded getting her sweater to wear, looking at her now he didn’t think it had a chance of fitting him so there was really no loss from what he did to her so he kept a big smirk on his face because of what he accomplished with his sweaty hug.
“I’ll be ready for your revenge…and truth be told I doubt your sweater would have fit me anyway.” he told her with a slight laugh as she sat down next to him. It was impressive how long he had known Kensi now, long enough to know that she would plot revenge, long enough to know she was with her sister Saturday mornings, and most importantly long enough for her to know his middle name. The last was always his favorite, it meant you had a long time under your belt with him and that was why he basically thought of Kensi as a cousin and not just a friend.
Then just like he thought she was with her sister Amy that morning, and it was always good to hear she was doing well. Even though he didn’t hang out with Amy it always brought him peace of mind to know Kensi’s family is doing well. When she mentioned florists knowing all the gossip he burst out into laughter because it was too funny not to laugh. Here he thought bartenders would know all the gossip but florists did know who is buying flowers for someone else in the city. “Bet your sister knows about all the sexy affairs going on in the city.” he added with another laugh. Surely if anyone was cheating in this city, and he was willing to bet there were loads of people cheating, the florists would know about it. If a guy comes in one week and buys flowers for one girl and then comes in the next week and buys flowers for another girl no doubt the florists would know if the man had a wife and was sending the other set of flowers to his sexy secretary. “Good thing I don’t have to hear about this gossip…” he added truthfully still laughing at what he said before.
After calming down he looked back out at the game going on after her question and a sly smirk went on his face. Normally he was a modest guy, but when it came to soccer and his abilities Cas knew full well he was the best. That was why he was picked first for the game without even being at the park. “My day has been great, I love coming here Saturdays just to play with these guys.” he told her with a simple nod of his head. “And of course I destroy these guys, I got the dribbling moves to put em in a daze and I can pass the ball around better then anyone in the city.” His cockiness showed a bit just then but if Kensi knew a better soccer player in the city he’d love to meet him, just so he’d know how much he has to improve to become the best again. “Any plans for tonight? Saturday night after all…going to a party? Or you just going to chill in your dorm?”
